The fiddle-flute duo, Rambler, has been playing music together for 10 years and returned from a 7 month stay in Ireland where they exclusively studied Irish traditional music. Now married, Hannah and Robert play regularly in the Milwaukee area as well as at festivals and special events throughout Wisconsin. In addition to performing, the duo works to spread traditional music and knowledge in southeastern Wisconsin through teaching workshops, planning events (such as the Terrace Irish Fest), and sharing tunes.
Robert Muehlbauer is currently a high school science teacher. Starting with the piano, he has since learned to play the violin/fiddle, banjo, accordion, whistles, wood flute, and uilleann pipes. Robert plays almost exclusively Irish music and has performed at Milwaukee Irish Fest, St. Pat’s Eve, Chocolate Fest, as well as numerous other fairs, festivals and private events. He is also a regular at the Irish session at County Clare in Milwaukee.
Hannah Muehlbauer completed programs in music education and Celtic studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Also a classically trained violinist, Hannah first found her love for Irish music when she took up step dancing as a girl. Besides playing Irish music with Rambler and being a regular at the County Clare session, she plays with the Kettle Moraine Symphony as well as bluegrass/old time music with the No Name Stringband. In addition to the fiddle, Hannah can often be found playing the bodhrán, tenor banjo, and viola.
